We have been visiting Destin for 20 years. Powder white sand beaches and emerald waters are hard to beat. We usually drive 14 hours from Kansas City. When the kids were little, we would drive straight through the night. Visited Destin during spring break, Thanksgiving, and summertime. Love the off season! Traffic can be very overwhelming during the summer! When the kids were little, we would stay at Waterscape every year. Kids loved it! It was like a waterpark on the beach. Booked a condo through VRBO several times.

As the kids have gotten older, we have wanted to get away from the traffic of Destin and have made our way to 30a. We typically rent a house with other families on the beach. We love the towns on 30a. Great places to eat and so much to do with older kids. The beaches are not as crowded.

30a is just a short drive to Panama City beach as well. The older kids liked going there for a day.
